Frequently Asked Questions

B2B Buyer Questions, Answered

What is your MOQ for custom OEM zinc alloy hardware?

Our standard MOQ is 500 pieces per design for custom OEM zinc alloy products. For smaller trial orders, MOQ can be negotiated case-by-case — especially if the design fits our existing tooling library. Pre-production samples are typically available without an MOQ commitment.

How fast can you deliver samples?

We deliver samples within 3 working days for items based on existing molds or simple geometry. For fully custom designs that require new tooling, sample lead time is 7-15 working days. Express courier (DHL/FedEx) is used for international sample shipments.

What is the lead time for bulk production?

25-30 working days after sample approval and receipt of deposit, for standard order volumes of 1,000-50,000 pieces. Lead time may extend for very large orders or complex multi-cavity tooling. We provide a precise production schedule with each order confirmation.

Do you provide CE, RoHS and REACH compliance certificates?

Yes. Our factory is ISO 9001:2015 certified. All zinc alloys and electroplating processes are RoHS and REACH compliant. We are BSCI audited. Third-party test reports from SGS/Intertek can be arranged on request for projects requiring full compliance documentation.

What payment terms do you accept?

Standard terms are 30% T/T deposit, 70% balance before shipment. For repeat clients and orders above USD 10,000, we accept Letter of Credit (L/C at sight). PayPal is accepted for sample fees and small initial orders. All prices are quoted in USD by default; EUR pricing available on request.

What is your production capacity?

Our facility operates 4 hot-chamber die-casting machines (up to 400-tonne clamping force), producing 50,000+ pieces per month per casting line. We also operate a dedicated tungsten carbide grinding cell with micron-level precision. Total annual capacity exceeds 5 million zinc alloy pieces.

Can you work directly from our CAD/STEP files?

Yes. We accept STEP, IGES, STL, X_T and 2D PDF drawings. Our engineering team reviews and quotes typically within 24 hours. We also provide design-for-manufacturing (DFM) suggestions to optimize cost and reliability, and can offer in-house tooling design if you only have concept sketches.

Which countries do you ship to?

We support global B2B exports, with strong experience in Europe, the Middle East, North America and emerging industrial markets — including Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United States and Canada. We offer FOB Shenzhen / Yantian as standard; CIF and DDP available for high-volume orders on request.

What surface finishes do you offer?

Brushed gold, polished chrome, matte black, antique brass, satin nickel, copper, gunmetal, plus PVD coatings for high-end durability. All finishes include multi-layer electroplating (copper + nickel + topcoat) and pass 96-hour salt-spray testing as standard.

What is the difference between zinc alloy and tungsten carbide products?

Zinc alloy is a ductile, easily cast metal ideal for decorative hardware — handles, knobs, locks, fashion accessories — with rich plating finishes. Tungsten carbide is extremely hard (92-95 HRA), used for cutting tools, wear-resistant components and industrial tooling where abrasion resistance is critical. LuminaCast manufactures both lines under one roof.
